Salman should go to temple & apologize : Rakesh Tikait

Date:

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has issued a statement on the issue of death threats to Salman Khan by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi & his gang. He quoted ” Salman Khan should go to a temple and apologize.”

He further added,” Badmash aadmi hai woh; referring to Lawrence Bishnoi.” The threats are linked to the famous blackbuck poaching case of 1998.

“Yeh samaj se juda hua mamla hai. Salman Khan ko mandir jaa kar maafi maang leni chahiye, nahi toh jail me band aadmi pata nahi kab tapakwa de (This is a matter that is connected to the society. Salman Khan should go to a temple and apologise, else you never know when the person in jail might do something to harm him),” Tikait said.

The Blackbuck Incident

The feud between Lawrence Bishnoi and Salman Khan stems from the 1998 killing of a blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community.

Lawrence Bishnoi believes Salman Khan has disrespected the entire Bishnoi community by killing the Blackbuck.

The case can be traced back to 1998 when the actor was shooting for his film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain.’ Khan was accused of hunting down Chinkaras along with his co-actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre.

Members of the Bishnoi community filed a case against Salman Khan and his co-actors from the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in connection with the killings of the animals.

Recent chatter regarding Bishnoi gang

Salman Khan earlier received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Suspected members of the gang had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home in April. A few months ago, the Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Khan, leading to security enhancement for the actor.

NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was gunned down on October 12, may have been targeted by Bishnoi because of his close proximity to Khan, according to police.

A threat message demanding Rs 5 crore from the actor was received on the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline last week, prompting the police to register a case and launch an investigation. The sender promised to end the feud between Khan and Bishnoi. However, the police found out that the message was sent by a vegetable vendor, who was arrested by the cops.
