PM Modi, in his 115th edition of Mann Ki Baat, addressed the issue of cybercrimes, specifically the growing cases of Digital Arrest. He urged the public to follow the principle of “stop, think, and take action” when encountering such scams.
During his 115th ‘Mann ki Baat’ broadcast, PM Modi stated that investigating agencies are coordinating with state authorities to tackle this problem but stressed that public awareness is crucial for self-protection against these crimes.
“Beware of ‘Digital Arrest’ fraud. No investigative agency will ever contact you by phone or video call for such an investigation,” he said.
In addition to informing the police about such a crime, Modi urged people to call the national cyber helpline at 1930 or visit its website.
